Qualia Labs, Inc. and its affiliates (“Qualia” or “we” or “us” or “our”) develop and support a platform of technology tools and services that helps key actors in U.S. real estate, such as title and escrow agents, mortgage lenders, real estate agents, and title insurance underwriters, conduct their operations more efficiently and more transparently.

Qualia also develops and supports several websites including qualia.com, blog.qualia.com and learn.qualia.com. Qualia and its service providers use cookies and related technologies on these sites or within certain services. This cookie notice describes: cookies and related technologies; why or how they are used; and your choices regarding their use. 1. What are Cookies?

In general, cookies or browser cookies are bits of data that are placed on your browser or device, which can be read by Qualia and others to do a variety of things. Browser cookies and related technologies, such as pixel tags, web beacons, local shared objects (“Cookies”), can be used for similar purposes. Cookies can help Qualia and others to: tailor sites or services to your needs or preferences, track the pages you visit, manage content, and compile statistics about usage of sites or services, and otherwise learn about your online activity, including on other sites or services. For example, web beacons allow ad networks to provide anonymous or aggregated auditing, research and reporting for advertisers. Web beacons and other Cookies enable ad networks to serve targeted advertisements to you when you visit websites. Pixels and other Cookies in emails help track email response rates, identify when emails are viewed, and track whether emails are forwarded.

2. Cookies & Data Collection

We and our third-party service providers, which include analytics companies such as Google Analytics as well as ad networks, may use Cookies to collect information about the computers or devices (including mobile devices) you use to access Qualia sites or services. We may also use Cookies to collect and analyze a variety of device and usage information, including but not limited to: web log data, referring and exit pages and URLs, platform type, number of clicks, IP address, domain names, landing pages, including pages and content viewed and the order of those pages, the amount of time spent on particular pages, actions completed, transaction types, location of transactions, tasks and workflows, time spent completing tasks and workflows, the date and time of use, the frequency of use, other usage patterns, error logs, unique identifiers (including Ad IDs and Device IDs), device attributes, such as operating system and browser type.

3. Why We Collect This Information.

We use information gathered by or in connection with Cookies (including the information collected by our third-party service providers) for various purposes as described in this Cookie Notice or our Privacy Policy, including to understand how people use our sites or services, make improvements and to support our advertising efforts, such as with targeted ads.

A. Essential Cookies

Some Cookies are essential – without them our sites and services will not work as intended. One example is Cookies associated with our consent management platform, which allow us to save and respect your choices (of whether to accept certain cookies or opt out).

B. Functional Cookies (Added Features and Analytics)

Some Cookies allow us to offer additional features or experiences, such as the ability to chat in real time with a Qualia representative on qualia.com. Others support our ability to analyze use of our sites and services as well as the success of an ad campaign. We analyze use of our sites and services and may use third-party web analytics providers, such as Google Analytics, to help with this. These service providers use the types of technology described in the Section 2 to help us analyze how users use our sites and services, including by noting the third-party website from which you arrive. The information collected by the technology will be disclosed to or collected directly by these service providers, who use the information to help us evaluate your use of our sites and services.

We may also collect on a real-time basis information on how you navigate through or otherwise use our sites or services. This may include mouse movements, how you navigate within or scroll through our sites and services, and which parts of our sites and services you interact with.

We use this information (including the information collected by our third-party service providers) for various purposes, including to: determine which portions of our sites or services are used most frequently, what our visitors and users like or do not like, for audit and support purposes, to assist in determining relevant advertising (both on and off our sites), to evaluate the success of our advertising campaigns.

C. Advertising Cookies

Some Cookies support advertising. When you visit our public sites and pages (for example blog.qualia.com), we may use certain third parties (e.g., ad networks and ad servers) to set or access Cookies on your computer, mobile phone, or other device in order to serve targeted ads to you and to track or report on engagement with those ads.

4. Choices –

This section describes a number of steps you can take to understand Cookie usage and to make choices, such as opting out.



A.

Consent Manager – Qualia offers a consent management platform to: (a) provide transparency about exactly which Cookies are placed or read on our sites or services; and (b) give you the ability to make choices and exercise control over their use. Note that the Cookies that are applicable to a user (i.e. an individual logged in to a Qualia service) are essential and an opt-out is not supported. However non-essential Cookies applicable to a visitor to our public sites, such as those related to advertising, can be managed with the Consent Manager.



B.

Other Choices – In addition to our Consent Manager, you can exercise choices as described below.



Google Analytics – To opt-out of Google Analytics you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. For more information on how Google Uses information and your choices, visit this google page.

Ads & Industry tools

  • You may use the NAI opt-out tool which will allow you to opt-out of seeing interest-based ads from NAI approved member companies.
  • You may opt-out of receiving personalized ads from other companies that perform ad targeting services, including some that we may work with as Advertising Partners, via the DAA website.

Mobile Device Opt-Out – To opt-out of tracking of your behavior across different mobile applications and limit interest-based ads, see instructions for iOS and Android devices:

  • iOS: Go to your Settings > Select Privacy >
    • Tracking > turn off the ability of apps to request to track your activity across app
    • Apple Advertising > turn off personalized ads
  • For Android devices: Open Settings app > Select Google > Select Ads > reset or delete advertising ID

Qualia does not control any of the tools or opt-out links described in this section 4B and is not responsible for any choices you make using these mechanisms or the continued availability or accuracy of these mechanisms.
